7 Women, 7 Favorite Beauty Products

This Monday marks the start of my cosmetology career two years ago. Oh, gosh. What a journey! I’ve obviously loved every minute of it but what I love most about my job is the people I meet. At the salon, I get a lot of people who want to basically come in expecting me to work wonders to help transform them. And that’s cool and all. I can do exactly that, but you know what’s great? The fact that I get to learn a lot from them, that’s what’s cool. People of all ages walk in to my salon, we talk, we bond and it’s actually quite fun.

So here’s what they had to say:

Mindy O’Callaghan, 27

“I’ve learnt the value of a good sunscreen, believe it or not. Now I almost never step out of the house without it and my skin doesn’t tan. If you have to make one good investment to your beauty regime, invest in a good sunscreen. I use L’Oreal Paris Sublime Sun Advanced Sunscreen SPF 50+. It gives me long lasting protection- something that everyone should look for in their sunscreen.”

Natalie Montgomery, 35

“If there’s one thing I splurge on it’s my Crème de la Mer moisturizing cream. And I’m not even sorry. That thing is a miracle worker! You know how you wish a moisturizing cream could just do everything- soothe your skin, make your skin glow and make it soft and supple? That’s what this cream is all about.”

Hannah Neilson, 25

“I can’t do without my Diorshow by Dior mascara. If drama is what you’re looking for, drama is what you’re going to get. I mean I don’t even need to curl my eyelashes or anything. This stuff is perfect the way it is.”

Sawyer Brooks, 18

“You want a smudge-proof eyeliner that’s an absolute winner? You have to try the ELF Studio’s Cream Eyeliner. It’s the creamiest, smoothest, loveliest eyeliner ever. And the price pretty much just seals the deal for me.”

Marybeth Dawson, 43

“Oh, it’s gotta be Giorgio Armani Maestro Fusion make-up without doubt. If I’m going to use foundation I don’t want to feel like I’ve used foundation. I like light coverage, something that ultimately looks natural. I’ve used it for ten years now and I’m not about to switch anytime soon.”

Aria Lannister, 49

“I think I struck gold the day I discovered Ahava’s All in One toning cleanser. Rarely can a woman ask for anything more than a toner that also removes make-up and leaves your skin feel fresh and hydrated.”

Michelle Byron, 58

“You know where a woman first starts to show signs of aging? Her eyes. So it’s pretty much a given that as you start to age, you’re going to have to invest in a strong anti-aging regime. For me, La Prairie’s Cellular Eye Contour cream is a must-by. You’ll see for yourself what I’m talking about when you use it.”

Different women, different preferences. But you know as they say…never a dull day where I come from. Never a dull day.
